MTA Enhanced Station Initiative

The Enhanced Station Initiative is aimed at modernizing existing NYC subway stations by improving structural and architectural elements, enhanced wayfinding, product design, and improved accessibility. Moreover, the ESI program defines the new visual identity system of the MTA for decades to come.

With Grimshaw as architectural lead, my involvement with Billings Jackson Design included turning design directive documents into fully defined, build-able product drawings for 17 stations and counting. My contribution to station amenities includes benches, lean bars, trash receptacles, integrated information dashboard systems, lighting, and egress canopies details. These elements help customers make navigation decisions and move to their destinations with clarity and comfort while making a meaningful improvement to the transit experience.

Designed in collaboration with Billings Jackson Design. All design work belongs to Billings Jackson Design and NYCT
